I have just been asked by a reputable publication to review a new work by John Keay, author of the magisterial History of India. I am a few chapters into it and it is a pleasure to read.

Anyone who enjoyed the History will be comfortable with this new volume, which brings us up to the present day, as it carries all JK’s hallmarks – balance, accuracy and wit.

You heard it here first.
