THE ARTICLE ON AKBAR AS A LIBERAL SEEMS TO BE VERY CHILDISH AND IMMATURE. I WISH THE BLOGGER HAD TRIED TO GIVE SOME CONCRETE POINTS TO HOLD ON TO. INSTEAD HE HAS LATCHED ON TO SOME OF HIS OWN SEMI SOPHISTICATED VIEWPOINTS GIVING THEM A FLIMSY CLOAK OF HISTORY.

I find it sad that Nehru seems to be so reviled today, by a generation who knows nothing about him. (As you say, one of the reasons is that many of the sins of the daughter have somehow gotten attached to the father.) If it had been any of today’s heroes who had been the first PM instead of him ~ Patel, Bose, whoever ~ I don’t like to think of what would have happened to the country

I am thrilled to find your article addressing secret British / Churchill plan to partition India. I have see the recent movie “The Viceroy’s House” and wanted to research the proposition. Your article 10.3 Partition and Conspiracy: Churchill” is very helpful.
In this article, you reference: “Churchill’s passionate speech in the House of Commons, on 6 March 1946.” In my efforts to find and read this speech, I seem to find that Churchill was in Fulton Missouri on 5 March 1946 giving his famous “Sinews of Peace / Iron Curtain” speech.
It seems doubtful to me that he made it all the way to London and was giving a speech in the House of Commons by the next day. But I suppose it might just be possible. I was unable to find a text of the 6 March 1946 speech you reference, but then I did not spend a huge amount of time looking, either.
Can you clarify, please?

I stumbled on the answer to my concern. Mr. Churchill’s speech to which you refer was given March 6, 1947, rather than 1946, if I am correct. I’m surprised I couldn’t guess at the answer earlier.
That totally makes sense given the parliamentary agendas of 1946 vs. 1947. At least I think it does; I’m not an expert.

Yes, a bit quiet, I write for Open magazine and that takes up much of my energy. I am also working on a new book – literally just back from Delhi late yesterday – and that has taken up a lot of the rest. But I will be putting some new stuff up soon.

Just a question this time: when you emphatically detoxed Hindu claims of ruling the world for so long, have you tried looking at the rhetoric of Zionism that has killed thousands of Palestinians out of thin air? would like to know your unbiased views on this, although as a questioner i might have put my bias on this. thanks heaps!

I am not sure quite what you mean. I don’t think ‘Zionist rhetoric’ has killed anybody. Zionists have.
I avoid the topic generally, as I am neither Jewish, nor Israeli nor Palestinian and the whole thing is such a terrible mess, compounded by poor leadership on both sides.
Anyone who claims to ‘own’ or have a right to rule the whole world will always get a negative reaction from me.
